Car Draw

Terms and Conditions

1. Participation in the draw is limited to eligible members of Buncrana Credit Union and they must be over 18 on or before the draw date.
2. The draws will continue half yearly until the Board of Directors of Buncrana Credit Union Limited deem otherwise.
3. The draws will be non-profit making and any surplus funds after the deduction of expenses will be disposed of by way of extra cash draws.
4. The entrance fee of €20 per annum per member will be deducted in advance from savings or as defined by the Board of Directors. The €20 fee is the same whether the member joins before the first draw or before the second draw.
5. Once the member elects to participate in the draw, the entrance fee will be automatically deducted annually unless the member indicates in writing that they no longer wish to participate in the car draw.
6. Participation will be limited to ONE entry per account (joint accounts - first name only).
7. All eligible members can elect to participate in the draw ONLY if the written authorisation is received or delivered to the Credit Union offices three days before each draw.
8. The make and type of car will be at the sole discretion of the Board of Directors. Cash will not be given in lieu, except in circumstances outlined in point 14.
9. The Board of Directors, Staff and Volunteers of Buncrana Credit Union will not be liable for any defects, or otherwise, found in a vehicle supplied.
10. Winning members will be notified personally. The winner’s name and photograph will be used in promoting the draw. If the winner refuses to co-operate in the promotion of the draw, prizes may be forfeited and a new draw may take place.
11. A register of entrants will be maintained at the Credit Union Offices.
12. The Car Draw will be held in public in the Credit Union office under the supervision of at least one member of the Board Oversight Committee and one member of the Board of Directors.
13. The decision of the Board of Directors of Buncrana Credit Union concerning the foregoing rules or any matter arising from the half yearly draw will be final and not subject to appeal.
14. In the event that the winning member is in arrears or default in carrying out any financial commitment/obligation to the Credit Union, the Board may make a decision to withhold the prize until arrears have been paid or default rectified. In such a case the Board’s decision will be made in writing to that member. The winning member will receive the net proceeds after deductions are made to cover all arrears or default. The notice may be made personally or by registered post to the member in which case the date of receipt will be deemed to be two working days after the date of posting.
